Norfund aims to be an active owner, and we therefore have a preference for equity. 54 percent of our portfolio is invested in equity*. Ownership stakes enable more influence over strategies and operations of the companies, compared with e.g. loans. However, equity investments are the most demanding.
We are also actively lending, and financial institutions in particular need access to loans. In consequence we are also working actively to build up a loan portfolio. Overall, the distribution between the different instruments in the portfolio reflects our desired portfolio mix.
